We appreciate your understanding.

Appointments

We are an appointment based practice, however , we will always endeavour to accommodate walk-in patients.

A standard appointment is a generous 15 minutes. If you require extra time for a full medical check-up or if you have a number of problems to discuss or forms to fill out, please advise our receptionists, and extra time will be allocated for your appointment. You are encouraged to request your preferred doctor and every effort will be made to facilitate this. However, it is advisable to have a second doctor so that when your preferred doctor is on leave you are comfortable seeing someone else.

Repeat Prescriptions / Referrals

This can be done via a telephone appointment with your doctor provided you have been seen face to face in the clinic within the last 6 months. Repeat prescriptions will only be provided when the patient has been seen by a doctor, for that particular problem, in the last three months. If you have not been seen in the last three months face to face, then an appointment is necessary.

For all Authority Prescriptions (requiring Government approval) an appointment with a doctor is necessary.

Please note: It is illegal to back date a referral and it will not be done.

Telephone Calls

In many cases, enquiries can be dealt with by one of our practice nurses. Telephone calls to doctors are not encouraged. However, if a patient needs to speak to a doctor a message can be left with the receptionist, the doctor will return the call at the end of his/her session. All urgent calls are put through to the practice sister for triage.

SMS Messaging

SMS messages are used as appointment reminders, recall and other test reminders or medical services we offer. Please confirm your mobile number with reception. If you do not wish to be contacted via SMS please advise reception.

Test Results

It is the patients responsibility to telephone the practice for test results. If your results are anything other than normal, or if you require additional information you will be asked to schedule an appointment to discuss these results with your Doctor.

Please note: Our receptionists are not medically qualified to provide any information other than what has been instructed by your doctor.

Recall System

Our practice is committed to preventative care. Your doctor will seek your permission to be included in our reminder system. A reminder notice may be sent to you from time to time offering you preventative health services appropriate to your care.
